Thank You!

Sun Jan 22, 2012, 11:14 PM

THANK YOU :iconjohn945:

I just wanted to give a big thank you to EVERYBODY. Yes that's right.
To all my watchers, new and old, to all of my friends, and to all of the people I've ever met or will meet:
I <3 u.

I got so many birthday and holiday wishes that I'm still taken aback by all of the kindness and love you guys and gals have to offer! I received some truly wonderful birthday wishes and presents and I want to thank you all.  I also want to personally thank each and every one of you that took the time to draw me something. If there are any drawings that I missed, please do link them here for me! I really recommend you guys can check them out, too, there's some real great stuff in there! You can find them in my favorites gallery, titled [PMD-Explorers] for Chill fanart and [Lovely Gifts] for OCs/misc. And for those of you worrying, even if you did absolutely nothing, fret not! After all, it's the thought that counts, and that means a lot to me.

And check it out! The lovely ditto9 made me my very first stamp! I've always secretly wanted one and now I finally do! Totally gonna wear this with pride~

I've had a hard and busy past few months, but I think the worst parts are over for now, so bring on 2012, YEAH! :la:

Trip Time!

Tue Oct 18, 2011, 7:22 AM

Just thought I'd let you all know that I'm going on a trip! I'm going to be visiting glitchedpuppet for a while, so I'm gonna be pretty busy! Dunno how much art I'll get done or how active I'll be, but I know it's sure to be a blast! I'm pretty excited, I'll get to see some different scenery besides California for once!

Anything I haven't finished (( like the remaining commissions and art trades list I have, etc. )) I'll get to once I get back from my visit if I don't get to while I'm there. Sorry for making you all wait in the meantime. Take care and talk to all you guys later! :la:

Bad News: UPDATEDx2

Mon Aug 22, 2011, 3:39 AM

UPDATE 2: I'll be back and uploading art, but just for a little bit. My tablet still hasn't been fixed or returned to me, so I'm still waiting on that, but at least I have access to another one in the meantime! My activity might be pretty random here on DA though... so art trades and commissions are on hold until then! Thank you for understanding~

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Wacom and they told me that even though I technically wasn't covered, that they would fix my tablet for free! Things are finally turning around. I'M SOO HAPPYYYYYYYYYY~ ;u;

Actually, this is probably the worst news any digital artist can have!

My faithful and absolutely amazing Wacom Intuos4 tablet stopped working for who knows what reason. :C Regardless of it being only a year old, it just up and died without any warning. This has left me kinda... devastated.

I'm not sure what it is or why it happened, but I feel really empty and completely frustrated without my tablet because now I won't be able to draw until further notice.

There's no physical damage to it, it's only a year old, I've tried all of the ports, multiple USB hubs, tried changing the cord, rebooted my computer, re-installed the tablet and the driver, and tried it on multiple computers. I've even tried plugging in other electronics into my computer to make sure that wasn't the problem. Nothing seems to work. It's just completely dead.

. . . And now I feel dead inside. ;_;

I don't think anyone wants to watch me draw some ponies, right? No I didn't think so....…

Some Drawing Advice!

Thu May 26, 2011, 7:18 AM

I've been talking to some people recently who are either beginning artists or get easily discouraged by "more talented artists," and to those people, I'd love to give some advice!

As for tips, this is gonna probably sound so cliche but practice, practice, practice! A lot of beginner artists get really intimidated because they will often try to jump into something and expect it to be AMAZING right away and become discouraged and upset when it doesn't. Even if your first few pictures don't turn out so well, the experience you gain from drawing each one will help you learn so quickly. You'll start to pick up on the methods and things about the style that you do and don't like, and eventually you'll just start doing things by heart and making stuff up along the way. Just remember that not everything has to be *perfect* because if you have that mentality, you'll never get anything done! If you're stuck on something for a long time, it's perfectly okay to do something else and if you feel like it later on, come back to it with fresh eyes and maybe you'll be able to do it in a way that you like.

If you don't know where to start , it's okay to look at already-existing pictures and to just redraw them. I'm NOT saying to trace, but just practicing already-existing poses is good for getting a feel on how things work. Once you get the hang of it, start making up your own poses! I still have trouble on poses from time to time, so just remember that references and photos are your friends! Tutorials are also really good to look at, whether you're just beginning to draw or have been drawing forever. Learning different techniques and how they can be broken down is really useful, and you don't have to stick exactly to the tutorial either. It's just a guideline there to help you out!

I always feel like I'm being so cheesy or like I'm a broken record when I give advice, but hopefully this will help someone out there! These are just little things that I've learned along the way and I still have so much to learn myself. If you guys have any questions or anything at all, feel free to ask. I love helping out whenever I can!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon group launched!

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 16, 2011, 4:56 PM

Just wanting to spread the word about our new Pokemon group! If you like Pokemon, drawing, and cool adventures, you should definitely check this group out! We just launched and it's going to get pretty exciting pretty quickly too, but there are no entry deadlines or elimination rounds, so feel free to join and have fun! :D

Plus everyone's favorite Minccino, Chill, is the leader of the Rescuer's group. I think that's reason enough to join. B]

April Fool's!

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 2, 2011, 11:22 PM

Did any of you do any cool pranks for April Fool's? I know I sure did. >:3

For those of you that missed it, Trollface invaded, pandas were everywhere, and Zoruas were swapping left and right! All in all, it was good fun! And while I can't take credit for the genius Zorua art swapping, for those of you that liked the one I uploaded on April Fool's, you should go and visit the original artist, :iconkuchibuttchi:!

As for me, I've been keeping pretty busy! I'm looking forward to a lot of cool things that might be happening this year, too! And of course, there's always Pokemon B/W. I'm not very far in the game, but if you want to add me, my friend code is 0132-1377-4081. :D

I Need a Little Help! ,w,

Journal Entry: Fri Mar 18, 2011, 11:43 AM

Hey guys! Sorry to be writing another journal so soon! But I could really use the help!

In case you haven't heard about something called Dropbox, it's an amazing thing that lets you sync, store, and backup files instantly online for free! It's really useful if you use multiple computers and don't want to deal with e-mailing yourself files or saving things on your USB flash drives! It's amazing and I really recommend using it, especially if you're paranoid about losing your files! Plus you have the option of either keeping your files private or showing them to other people!

Anyhoo, I've run out of space which means that I can't save my artwork anymore! If you guys help me out and sign up and install Dropbox, you'll get 2GBs + a free 250MB's worth of extra storage!

It would really help me out a ton! Thank you so much guys!

DA Anniversary!

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 17, 2011, 11:56 PM

It's my 7th DeviantArt anniversary (( and St. Patrick's Day, lolz )) ! Yay! It was 7 years ago on this very day that I decided to enter the wonderful world of an art community! I'm so glad that I stuck with it. :'D

If it wasn't for DA, I wouldn't have improved my art so much, made so many friends, or killed so many hours' worth of boredom! Thank you DA, for giving me so many great things, so much inspiration, two Daily Deviations, and for being there for me! It is all thanks to DA that I started digital artwork, and the reason that I am still drawing to this day!

Here's my very first digital painting, all the way back in 2004, compared to my latest digital painting! It's so embarrassing to look at it now. I think I've come a loooong way! :XD:
2004 Mew in the Twilight by crayon-chewer --> Joltik by crayon-chewer 2011

I'm still behind in messages (( going on 6000+ )) and I know making this journal won't help at all, but I just wanted to say thank you to all my watchers, both old and new, for all the support and for liking my art! I really appreciate all of the support!

Going on a Trip!

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 18, 2011, 4:51 AM

I'm going on another trip to Nevada to visit with my family, so I'm gonna be gone for some time! DON'T MISS ME TOO MUCH~
I'll be sure to read all of your comments and shouts and love notes when I get back though!

MWAH MWAH lots of love!
~, CC

Apologies! UPDATED

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 9, 2011, 2:36 PM

EDIT: I think my internet is gonna be pretty stable now since the old telephone pole that was causing all of the problems has been fixed! However, I have over 6000+ messages and 16 notes to sort through, so please be patient while I sift through these!

Also, gonna spam you guys s'more! Hope you don't mind! :XD:

I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back online, but I wanted to say I'm sorry to anyone that's left me any notes and comments that I haven't replied back to yet! My neighborhood has been having internet problems for some time now and I'm not sure when they will get fixed! It's so frustrating not knowing, so I hope you guys can understand! ;w;

. . . I never realized how bored I can get without the internet everyday! At least I'm drawing more! :XD:

PS- I'm gonna spam all of your inboxes with new artwork since I don't know if I'll be able to submit them any other time!

EDIT: KIRIBAN CAUGHT + Back from Holiday Hiatus!

Journal Entry: Mon Jan 3, 2011, 9:07 PM

EDIT: HOLY NONSENSE. I shot up 1000 views in less than 50 minutes! Congrats to :iconkatodaemon: for winning the kiriban!

Ahaha, I kinda forgot to inform everyone that I'd be gone, but I'm finally back from my holiday hiatus!

I've been in Nevada for quite some time. NEVADA IS COLD. But snow is COOL. :3 *pun fully intended*

Anyhoo, back to business I suppose! I'll be uploading some art from 2010 that I forgot about, as well as new art! I feel like I had a lot of growth in my art in the past year, so here's hoping that 2011 will be even BETTER!

For those wondering about commissions: I may have to tweak how I currently work them out, so they're on hold for the moment! If you're still interested though, just leave me a comment in this journal!

ALSO: 100k hits only comes once! Whoever catches my 100,000th pageview, screenshots it, and links it in this journal first will get something special in a Livestream session! :D

Thank You!

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 13, 2010, 6:49 PM

Wowzers, I leave for a day and I jump from 400 messages to over 5000+ overnight!

Not only did my Toothless drawing find its way to the front page, but I also won the draw-em-all Pika Pumpkin contest! Quite the honor! I'm so glad people enjoy my silly art! :XD:

Normally I like to thank each new watcher that I get, but with over 4000+ faves, hundreds of new watchers, comments, notes, and llamas galore, my inbox is going to be swamped for the next few days! So instead I thought it would be easier to just make a journal with one great huge
!!!THANK YOU!!!

Also, to celebrate, I've made a Formspring! Go ahead and ask me any question and I'll try my best to answer them! :D

Once again, I really want to thank each and every one of you for all of the support and love! I know I've been pretty busy lately, but may many hugs find their way to all of you!

Journal Entry: Fri Oct 8, 2010, 2:17 AM

I'm bored so I might doodle-respond back! :D

~Also! Inserting shameless self-promotion here.~
Commissions are still open! Click here if you're interested!

Please send all money via PayPal to
[ iatomicfox[AT] ]

You have the option of paying half upfront and the other half when I've finished your request
full price up-front.

*I will not start your request until I've received payment!*

- How do I request a commission?
Please send me a note with this format, it helps me stay organized better!

Subject: Commission Request
A description of what you would like drawn, links for reference, and any other specific comments including style, details, backgrounds, and anything else I should know.

- What styles can I request?
The above examples are not what you are limited to! You can always request a reproduction of a style or a brand-new style. I like trying new things. ;)

- What won't you draw?
I won't do anything NOT considered "clean/work safe," ex: excessive gore, nudity, porn, etc.
I'd rather not draw people unless they're chibi, but I'm willing to negotiate.
Remember, cute is what I'm best at so please keep that in mind. :3

- I want you to draw something but I don't have any reference for you.
You must provide a picture for me to reference, unless it's something easy like a Pokemon.

- I like it, but could you make a small change?
Yes! If you'd like, I can send you progress shots of your drawing if you request it. If you are unsatisfied with the artwork, I will be happy to change details as long as it's before the picture is completely finished.

- Can I pay you in points/subscriptions/gifts/something else?
On occasion I might accept gifts/points as payment, but not at this time, sorry! :(

Have a question that's not answered here? Feel free to ask!

If you aren't up for it or can't afford to commission me, that's okay! Verbal support helps too. Thank you in advance for your future business! :thanks:

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 8, 2010, 4:01 PM

HEY GUISE. I bet you've been wondering where I went! True, the video gaming industry is time-consuming, but the real excuse is that I just came back from Anime Expo! And lemme tell you, I had a blast this year! If you saw someone dressed up as GIR, that might've been me. :D

I bunked with my buddies XxSlyCatxX and TravJames as well as a few other DA-less friends and finally got to meet the loverly kailana-sama after two years of hearing about her (( we have all of the same plushies :XD: ))! She also made these MUST-HAVE badges:

- Kanto League Gym Badges - by poison-lollipop

And since next year will be my fifth year going, I've decided to make it super-special awesome by getting my own artist's booth! :D

I've never done this before, so I need as much advice as possible! SO. My questions to you guys!

1) Do you actually go to AX or other conventions in general?
2) Would you look forward to meeting me next year? :D
3) What do you look for in Artist Alley? (( ex: prints, buttons, bookmarks, keychains, etc, you name it! ))
4) If you look for prints, which existing or future prints would you like to see from me?
5) What kind of prices or deals do you guys look for when purchasing art?
6) What kind of paper do you prefer the print on and what size?
7) Anything else you can think of!

Even if you have no advice for me, I'd still appreciate any feedback! I want to make next year a great year, and your comments can help me accomplish that! Thanks! :thanks:

  • Listening to: Gorillaz~
  • Reading: All of your lovely comments~
  • Eating: Questionable food
  • Listening to: THE BEAT OF MY OWN HEART
  • Reading: All of your lovely comments~
  • Eating: TRIUMPH

That is probably the best picture to describe my personality and feelings at this moment, too. :XD:

THANK YOU GUYS, THANK YOOOOOOOU. I've dreamt of this moment since I joined 6 years ago. Things are looking up! First my employment at a gaming company as Lead Concept Artist, now this! 2010 is turning out to be a great year! :w00t:

And be sure to look out for my 70,000th page view! FREE PICTURE TO WHOEVER GETS IT. And it's coming up fast!

You'll be able to pick either:
A) a cute Pokemon chibi,
B) two Pokemon for my yin + yang type pairing things,
C) a Pokemon digital painting
or D) something sweet and simple. I don't wanna draw people unless they're chibi. Yes, I'm a baby. :ohnoes:

Good luck!
  • Listening to: Various melodic wavelengths
  • Playing: POKEYMANZ
  • Drinking: Dr. Pepper
Hey guys! Good news! It's official.
And the best part is that it's for video games! :la:

This is so super exciting, I can hardly believe it myself! I've only been working with them for a little bit, but today is super special to me because now it's official. That's right, I've achieved my dream job: getting paid to draw. ADGAFDSASFSDG. :excited:

They have promoted me to Lead Concept Artist... I love my new title. It's so pretty and shiny. So expect some different types of art in the future (( NOT POKEYMANZ :( )).

Oh, by the way, we're looking for some new art interns! If you live in the Riverside area in California and are interested, let me know! Just a note though: you must be 18, be able to visit our office a couple times a week, and it's an unpaid internship, but you can get college credit. And the best part is you'll get to work with ME! :D

I really like working here... the funniest part is when people are like, "WHAT? GIRLS MAKING VIDEO GAMES?!? BLASPHEMY." :XD:
  • Listening to: Various melodic wavelengths
  • Drinking: Yummy juices
EDIT: So I made a LiveJournal. I have no idea what I'm doing. :|

ABOUT TIME. Had to get rid of that smelly 2 year old journal! :XD:

In case you haven't noticed, my fellow Deviants, crayon-chewer has returned! :w00t: It was a crazy and very long hiatus, so for those of you that have stuck around, I give you my thanks! This time, I'm going to really try to stick to my word and stay more active.  I've already reached my personal goal of drawing more pictures in this single month than any other month of me being here for... holy moly, 6 years I've already been at this place?!? :O_o:

Anyhoo, to celebrate and thank my loyal e-fans, I'm going to hold a kiriban or two! 70,000 PVs is the magical number that you're going to want to watch out for! Make sure to have your PrintScreen buttons ready! I'm still pondering if I should hold a second one, and which number. What do you guys think? Free pictures, after all! :D

Also, I was also wondering if maybe I should get a Livejournal or something similar? I'm not really one for journals, but I think it'd be a good practice and it would also let me talk to you lovely people online a bit better. I don't have a camera or anything fancy, but you'd get to know things like my daily/weekly/monthly on-goings, doodles I don't upload to DA, and even personal stuff like my real name! :ohnoes:

So what do you guys think? I'd appreciate any feedback or opinions you guys have! :meow:

. . .  And yeah. I actually REALLY have to pee. I'm doing the wiggly dance right now as I type this. <_<
