What? A FLASH CARTOON? FROM CRAYON-CHEWER? That doesn't fit! It's down-right outrageous! BAH, GET ME AN AGENT.
Yup, that's right. I'm actually in an Intro to Flash class right now, so I'm totally learning how to animate awesome stuff. So because this is one of my first animations, it's a little eh. I've got the "Critique Encouraged" setting on, but DON'T BE HARSH, PLEASE. ;__; Be HELPFUL. I was going for the squigglevision look, so it's supposed to be shaky. No motion tweening used either, just straight-on drawn by mouse like everything else I do, yaaay. Anyhoo, it doesn't really have a plot, it's just of a kitty doing normal kitty things. And it's just there to make you go "aww" and make you feel all fuzzy inside.
Things to look for:
Was the text at the end up long enough to read?
Could you actually tell that it was a KITTY?
BESIDES FROM THE SQUIGGLY LINES, any ideas for improvement?
Any handy tips for a beginner like me?
Blah?
Z?
--------------- Tools: Flash Professional 8
Total Work Time: Over 4 hours
Frames: 155... about 100 more than I was planning to do. o_O;
Length: About 13 seconds
Other: . . . I worked on this until midnight. >_o
Actually, in the beginning, I was erasing the lines and then redrawing them, but then about half-way through the animation I realized that I was retarded and found the onion-skin option, so then I used that. Man, that saved me SO much time. We haven't learned about onion-skin in my class yet, so I didn't even know it was there until I did this animation. <_<
I'm so glad my little animation is worthy of so many happy internet faces! *dance* x3

the squiggly lines give it sense of a pencil drawing to me, so i suggest just scribbing in the cat's body.
Just filling it in makes it a bit bland.
I know thismuch about flash programs and such. I could tell it was a cat, though.
One question, when you animate do you erase a bit a redraw that bit, or do you use onion skin and redraw each frame?
Yes the "END" was up long enough to read it 8D
and yes it looks like a kitty <3
This is really good for a begginer ^3^
