The title is kinda how I feel at the moment... :/

I've got a big project coming up here pretty soon, and I want to do my best at it! So I decided to try a new method of shading, based on :iconatomicfishbowl:'s Fur Tutorial.

I don't really like how I've done this and think it needs a lot of work, as I'm used to working super chunky and not fine at all! But it totally doesn't even look natural, so I have a long way to go before I'll be happy with this... guess I gotta keep trying!

If you guys have any advice for me, please lemme know! . . . Back to practicing I guess! :iconotlplz:

I'm no good at drawing fur, either. >>; Yours looks better than I could do, though.

I personally prefer ye normal style, big, chunky cartoony = awesomeness! Might not be ye normal style, but I think it's still very good, love how ye've managed to make it actually look like it's painted. ^_^

Just watched the tutorial too, think I see what ye mean, ye've managed to make it looks awesomely like acrylic paints imo.
Perhaps try using a slightly darker colour for the base and maybe make the fur a bit more uniformed in direction?

Anyway, regardless it's great for a first try and keep practicing am sure ye'll get it sorted! Good luck hun. ^_^ *hugz*

Yeah, switching from chunky chest fluffs to semi-realistic fur is hard! :XD: But I've got a big job ahead of me and I want to do my absolute best, even if it means trying something new! :la:

Thanks for the advice! I've literally spent all day just redrawing fur over and over again (( this was just one picture that I decided was okay! )), but I still don't think I have it down just yet. So getting these suggestions really helps in the long run. ^_^; I hope the project I have in mind will turn out as planned! But don't worry, the cartoon chunk will return... I like it too much! =P
