I'm no good at drawing fur, either. >>; Yours looks better than I could do, though.
Just watched the tutorial too, think I see what ye mean, ye've managed to make it looks awesomely like acrylic paints imo.
Perhaps try using a slightly darker colour for the base and maybe make the fur a bit more uniformed in direction?
Anyway, regardless it's great for a first try and keep practicing am sure ye'll get it sorted! Good luck hun. ^_^ *hugz*
Thanks for the advice! I've literally spent all day just redrawing fur over and over again (( this was just one picture that I decided was okay! )), but I still don't think I have it down just yet. So getting these suggestions really helps in the long run. ^_^; I hope the project I have in mind will turn out as planned! But don't worry, the cartoon chunk will return... I like it too much!
But keep at ye fur am confident ye'll get it sussed in no time, ye're an awesome artist. ^_^
